Loved everything we ate at Sourdough! The turkey and pork sandwiches were delicious and the portion size was generous. We also loved the Guinness cake and lemon tart. Super cute spot & friendly staff. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating!

I had been to Sourdough before to pick up a cake I ordered that same morning (Thank you! it was delicious!), but I had never actually eaten there.
First off, bonus points for being open on a Monday morning and having vegan options available (a rare combination in Madison).
I ordered a house coffee, the Emma sandwich, and a veggie minestrone. Despite being busy, my food came out right away. The appeal here is that everything is fresh. The food tastes fresh, and that’s what you’re paying for; the quality. That said, the portion sizes were reasonable. The staff were polite in our limited interaction.
It was also great to have outdoor seating during this warm October.
Overall: great first experience.

We ordered our wedding cake through Madison Sourdough and I can’t express how perfect it was or how much our guests loved it! The cakes were beautiful, the flavors we got were perfect, and I was relieved when there was some left over for us at the end of the night. Kathy was a breeze to work with and we were so happy with the results! Would highly, highly, highly recommend.

Very cozy and cutesy place. Will update the review whenever I try their homemade bread but we got brunch (croque madam & roasted beef sandwich) and a carrot cake for dessert and everything was fresh and delicious.

Excellent service and atmosphere. I have been twice in the past two days—both breakfast and lunch are fabulous. Stand out croissants and dessert. A little expensive for the area but (I think) worth it!

Loved our breakfast here. The sourdough is soooo good that we ordered a whole loaf to bring back to Chicago after our breakfast. The outdoor seating is really nice and very dog friendly. The lady who brought our food to our table also offered treats to our beagles. Would definitely come back when we are in town next time.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Every bite we took was bursting with flavor, but this place didn’t just fill our stomachs—it warmed our hearts, too. Full points for greeting their furry friends at the door with water, and huge applause for the wonderful staff who care for all those beautiful plants. The open kitchen detail takes the experience to another level. Kudos to everyone involved!

I love Madison Sourdough!
My recommendations—
For breakfast/brunch:
Cook’s Breakfast
For something small:
Soups, kouign amann, almond croissant, chocolate chip cookie
To drink:
Hot brown sugar cardamom matcha latte with whole milk (or seasonal offering)
You can’t order a bad thing here ✨

My kids and grandkids had lunch here today and it is much more than a bread bakery. So much more, and all really good. The outside is pretty nondescript, but inside it is warm and inviting. The bakery case is filled with lots of yummy treats and the menu board has something for every taste, all freshly made. The Egg Salad has a Pesto addition which is really good, and all the other dishes were beyond good. The fruit was super fresh and very tasty.
There are two small cozy dining areas. One has a window into the bakery area and the grandkids enjoyed watching the pastry chef work her magic.
Parking is in the street or the small adjacent parking lot. While the location is accessible, the dining areas are a bit tight for a wheelchair. However, those at the tables would be happy to make room as needed.

Super solid spot for brunch!! I ordered The Drew (breakfast sandwich) and the hazelnut banana latte and both were sooooo good
The bread here is always fresh and super fragrant, like you can def taste the difference right away. The Drew was really good on its own but that chili maple sauce?? absolutely delicious!
The hazelnut banana latte was easily one of my top lattes in Madison. It wasn’t “too sweet”and the flavors actually blended really well (wasn’t too banana-y or nutty). My friend tried it too and she doesn’t even like hazelnut syrup at all, but she actually loved it and said she would order it herself next time which says a lot lol 😂
If I had one small suggestion I’d love to see them try pepper jack instead of cheddar in the sandwich just for a little extra kick
